Time is a daily gift from God that is given equally to each of us - twenty-four hours every day, no more and no less. How we choose to spend our time is completely up to us. Time is our most valuable gift from God, but often we take it for granted and don't value the finite amount we are given.
It's important to consider and pray over how we will share this precious gift. When God asks us to share our time, we do so through prayer and service. There are 168 hours in a week, and we can use some of that time to serve and pray for others. Here are some examples of how we can use our time to serve and pray for others:
- Use our talents: "Christ has given each of us special abilities, whatever He wants us to have out of his rich storehouse of gifts" (Ephesians 4:7). We can use our talents to help others, whether that's through volunteering, teaching, or simply lending a listening ear.
- Be present: Sometimes the best thing we can do for someone is simply be present with them. Whether it's spending time with an elderly neighbor, visiting someone in the hospital, or just listening to a friend who needs to talk, being present is a powerful way to share our time.
- Pray: Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can serve others. We can pray for those who are sick, those who are struggling, and those who need God's love and grace. We can also pray for ourselves, asking God to show us how we can best use our time to serve Him and others.
Remember, every moment we have is a gift from God. Let's use our time wisely and generously, sharing it with others and bringing glory to our heavenly Father.
